What do I like about Grand Lake Gardens? I like the way residents and staff treat each other like family. The terrific menu choices, beautiful dining area and friendly dinner companions are a plus. And I enjoy the fact that somebody else cooks and washes the dishes and takes care of housekeeping.
And there’s so much to do here … I can’t imagine how anyone could not enjoy it! Whether you like going to parties, attending lectures and seminars, participating in exercise classes, stepping out on the town … whatever you like, you can do it here. And if you want company, you’ll find plenty of nice neighbors who share your interests.
As for me, I grow vegetables in our organic garden for a local agency that provides lunches for seniors, participate in a book club, attend musical theater classes, play the piano for vespers, serve on committees, explore the Bay Area arts and entertainment scene, and more.
I enjoy the active and rewarding lifestyle at Grand Lake Gardens, and I’m glad I moved here while I can still appreciate every second of it. Come check it out for yourself. I think you’ll really like what you see.

Before retirement, I worked in the health care field, specializing in geriatrics. Over the years, I learned a thing or two about what we need as we grow older. Strong connections with family and friends and people you can count on. Optimism and enthusiasm … and an enduring passion for living. The ways and means to stay healthy and fit for as long as possible.
I’ve found all that and more at Grand Lake Gardens. Some of my interests include photography, pottery, exercise, poker games, a play reading group and classical music performances. And if I want somebody to join me in any of these activities, they’re easy to find. Not only that, but everyone on the staff is caring, efficient and friendly.
I think this is a great place to live, and I encourage you to seriously consider it for yourself. Come have a meal or two in our dining room. Meet some of the people. Explore all there is to see and do here. And see for yourself what a nice place this would be to live … today and for all the years ahead.

If you like being around people who have a lot of different interests, and enjoy learning and trying new things, you’d probably like living at Grand Lake Gardens as much as I do.
I’ve always stayed busy … gardening, volunteering, studying new subjects, being with friends and family … and I certainly haven’t given any of that up. But since moving here, I have all sorts of new friends, and there’s always something interesting to do. I’ve joined several special-interest groups, am exploring community theater, participate in a play reading group and attend poetry readings, and love working in our on-site organic garden. I’m also walking with friends to explore local wildlife areas. And there’s so much more.
I’m glad I moved here while I’ve still got plenty of energy and good health to do everything I want to do. Grand Lake Gardens is a great place to stay active and involved. Come see our community for yourself, and you’ll see what I mean!
